The Lagos State Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Education District Two, Anike Adekanye has reiterated the commitment of the District to continue to support and ensure the schools and teachers in the district put in their best to be the best in the state.
Adekanye who made it known at the 14th Annual Merit Award Ceremony of the district, tagged Soaring Higher, held at Gbagada Junior high School, said this year event aims at recognising and motivating staff, students and schools who consistently display excellent attributes in the discharge of their duties.
The Tutor-General said the awardees had showcased discipline, commitment, diligence, compassion, accountability and zeal for effective teaching and learning which has pay the way for the district to record great achievement in year 2019 across Nigeria.
While commending the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the priority attention given to the education sector, as well as unflinching support of the Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, the Tutor General said the support has taken education in the State to an enviable position in Nigeria.
She also advised parents to continue to invest in the education of their children, describing quality education as the highest yielding investment one can give any child.
