The Lagos State Government says it has discharged five more COVID-19 patients who have now tested negative to the contagion, following their treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
The government made this known in a series of tweets via Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s verified Twitter handle @jidesanwoolu on Thursday.
He tweeted: “Dear Lagosians, Today, five more patients — three females and two males, have been discharged from the Mainland Infectious Diseases Hospital to reunite with the society.
“They were discharged having recovered fully and tested negative twice consecutively to #COVID19.
“This brings to 90, the number of patients successfully managed and discharged from our isolation facilities.
“I appeal to residents to stay at home, practice #SocialDistancing and observe the highest possible personal and hand hygiene.”
As it stands, Lagos leads the toll of Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections with 235 of the overall 407 cases.
So far, Lagos has discharged 90 patients, while two patients have been evacuated, three patients transferred and 10 deaths recorded.
