Lagos State Government has set up an incident command system to ensure a quick and effective response in the case of the Corona Virus which has been declared a global concern.
While announcing this today during a press briefing with stakeholders at the Lagos House, Alausa Ikeja, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who said he would be the Chief Commander, recounted efforts and the preparedness of his administration to tackle the virus in case of an outbreak
The Governor cautioned residents against sending unconfirmed text messages or spreading such on social media platforms and assured that they would be duly informed if the virus got into the State.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi stated that there was no suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus in Lagos State.
Professor Abayomi added that in addition to activating all the Lagos contagious disease response centers, including the Infectious Disease Hospital, within Mainland Hospital in Yaba, where field tents were currently being erected, all General hospitals and primary health care centers across the state had been put on alert.
