Participatory budgeting programs depend on the effective engagement of stakeholders to remove capacity gaps, which can hamper successful execution.
The Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Abdulhamed Salawu made this assertion at the Stakeholders Consultative Forum for the Year 2020 Budget Preparation.
Salawu explained that the Forum was to seek the relevant and useful opinion of the general public towards social and infrastructural development for sustainability and peaceful co-existence.
Reaffirming the State Government Policy thrust on the T.H.E.M.E Agenda, the Chairman stressed that his Administration had set the pace for other Council on Infrastructural Development, Education, Health, Social Welfare as well as Environment.
While noting that plans had been concluded to build a befitting Secretariat, Salawu said he was opened to input and suggestions aimed at the development of the Local Government.
