Democrats accuse Trump of National Interest Betrayal

Democratic impeachment managers in the U.S are not resting on their oars in a bid to push the Senate to remove President Donald Trump from office.

The team, led by the Intelligence Chairman, Adam Schiff, who laid out argurments that the president had abused power, condemned Republicans who complained that the House managers had not presented anything new in the trial.

Judiciary Chairman, Jerry Nadler, in his speech described Trump’s action of pressurising Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, to announce investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden, as unprecedented betrayal of the national interest.

Nadler said although Trump’s conduct did not necessarily violate a specific criminal statue, it was however gravely serious and constitutionally impeachable.
