The Federal Government has said the Lagos-Ibadan railway project would not be completed in April this year as earlier projected.
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, stated this while inspecting the project, alongside the Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemi Saraki, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Amaechi observed that the current state of work on the over one point five billion dollars project showed that the April completion date was no longer feasible.
During a television program on January fourteen, the minister had stated that the government was working to ensure that the project was completed in April, but during the inspection, the minister said it was not feasible to complete the project as earlier planned.
Amaechi, Saraki, Makinde and senior officials from the Federal Ministry of Transportation, inspected the Lagos-Ibadan railway from Apapa in Lagos State, up to Ibadan in Oyo State.
