Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated government’s commitment to ensuring that the neatest Markets in the state are regularly identified and rewarded.
The Governor stated this in his address at a one day seminar on Market sanitation and security for market leaders in Lagos State organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO in conjunction with the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who was represented by Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, said when residents in Lagos ensured a cleaner environment in their homes and Markets, they would be safe and this would prevent an outbreak of diseases.
In her remarks, Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Yetunde Arobieke, who said the present administration had declared a zero tolerance on road sides and walk ways trading, urged Local Government Chairmen to ensure traders place importance on people’s lives.
Arobieke expressed the commitment of the state government to reconstitute the Market Board, urging traders to obey the rules and regulations in the state.
