The management of FC Barcelona has sacked its coach, Ernesto Valverde.
Valverde, who helped the club to two successive La Liga titles, has been replaced with former, Real Betis manager, Quique Setien.
However, the team which has produced a series of unconvincing displays under his leadership, has failed to reach the Champions League final.
To this end, FC Barcelona thanked him for his professionalism, commitment, dedication and his regular positive treatment towards all that made up the Barcelona family.
Setien, led Betis to its highest finish since two thousand and five and to the Copa del Rey semi final before leaving in May.
The club’s new manager, who has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year deal, would today be presented to the media.
