Lagos State Government says it will continue to support science, and create an enabling environment through policies and initiatives.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was represented at the occassion by the State commissioner for Science and Technology, Hakeem Fahm, gave the assurance today at the opening of Science and Technology Camp 2019, at Civil Service Model College, Igbogbo, Ikorodu Lagos.
The Governor said the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of the present administration called for inclusive scientific research towards enhancing good governance and improving the skills and knowledge of citizens in making informed decisions.
Sanwo-Olu observed that the creative thinking capacity of youths can be expressed and productively harnessed through encouragement, capacity building and maximization of potentials such as being provided at the camp.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State commissioner for Science and Technology, Hakeem Fahm, who spoke through his Permanent Secretary, Segun Adeniji, said the three hundred students in camp were selected through competitive tests among students from both private and public schools in Lagos.
