The Lagos State Government is commited to zero tolerance for all forms of sexual and gender based violence.
Making this known today was the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during theTwenty nineteen “walk to commit and act” Rally at Lagos Command Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, organised by the State’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team in conjunction with the Nigerian Bar Association, Ikorodu Branch.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Lagos was committed to the UN Conventions on domestic and sexual violence.
The Governor said irrespective of the personality of perpetrators of sexual and domestic offences, the State would apply full weight of the law on such persons.
Governor Sanwo-Olu appealed to victims of sexual and domestic offences and their relatives not to be silent but report incidents to the appropriate authority for prosecution.
He called on the media for support in its bid to further enlighten Lagosians on the danger of sexual offences.
