The Lagos State Government says there is the need for Lagosians to pay their taxes promptly and regularly to further ensure the delivery of good governance in the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stated this when Officers of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria,CITN, led by its President, Olajumoke Simplice, paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, said his administration was committed to bringing about good governance, equity, accountability which would impact the environment positively, saying the issue of taxation was germane and important.
The Governor, who thanked the CITN members for the visit, said his administration would support the institute on its upcoming twenty second annual conference holding in Lagos next year, adding that government had been supporting the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service in various capacities to meet their targets.
Speaking earlier, President of the institute called for the support of government on issues that had to do with taxation in Lagos, fiscal policy among others.
