Transport Ministry seeks permanent solution to gridlocks at junctions

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation says it is looking at strategic ways to tackle the perennial gridlocks at every junction and corridor of the State.

The State’s Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde said this at the maiden stakeholders meeting on Traffic Management Intervention plan on junctions and corridors.

Oladeinde who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Olawale Musa, stated that the State Government had deployed men to different locations across the state to determine the causes of the gridlocks and find a lasting solution.

According to the Commissioner, it was a collective responsibility to address the issue of traffic in Lagos, which was why the Ministry was working closely with other Ministries, Parastatals, Agencies and Departments, including private stakeholders.
