LAWMA engages 20 physically challenged persons as bridge sweepers

The Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, says it has engaged the services of Twenty challenged persons as sweepers of pedestrian bridges across the state.

The Assistant Director, Public Affairs of LAWMA, Folashade Kadiri,said the Authority had stepped up its drive to rid the state of waste and it had become necessary to engage all stakeholders, including physically challenged persons.

She noted that the cleanliness of the State was a collective responsibility, and all hands to be on deck to help the government realise its vision of building a cleaner city which every one would be proud of.

Kadiri pointed out that LAWMA had engaged the services of the physically challenged sweepers, instead of leaving them to beg on the streets.
