Lawmakers Condemn Xenophobia Attack, Implore Nigerians to Shun Violence

Lawmakers have condemned xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other foreign nationals by citizens of South Africa.

In a separate interviews, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Temitope Adewale of Ifako-Ijaye Constituency I, and Olanrewaju Afinni of Lagos Island constituency two, implored Nigerians to shun reprisal attacks, as most of the facilities attacked were owned by fellow Nigerians.

Adewale, who stressed that the Federal Government should deploy diplomatic measures to address the issue, commended the Speaker for his Humanitarian spirit by cutting short his trip to convey the House at the state level.

According to Afinni, lack of adequate knowledge was the cause of the attacks at both ends.
