As part of activities lined up to commemorate one hundred days in office of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the State Government through the Ministry of Health in collaboration with a non-governmental organization; Benjamin Olowojebutu Foundation will be carrying out free surgical intervention for one hundred people with lipomas, breast lumps, hernia and fibroid.
This was made known by the State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, stating that the surgical intervention tagged ‘100 in 100’ would start with screening and selection of patients for the surgical intervention.
According to Abayomi, the programme will commence with a five day screening exercise for patients with lipomas, breast lumps, hernia and fibroid from September Two to Six, twenty nineteen at the General Hospital, Ijede and surgeries will hold immediately after at designated General Hospitals to be communicated to selected patients.
He noted that apart from the screening and surgery, medical consultation and dental services would be provided to patients at no cost.
The Commissioner explained that the programme like other free medical intervention act as a stop gap to improve access to quality healthcare service in the drive to achieve universal health coverage.
